Tax Disputes podcast - India

In the fourth episode of our round the world Tax Disputes podcast series, we take you to India for a conversation with Mukesh Butani, founder and Managing Partner of BMR Legal Advocates, Sarah Osprey, tax partner and member of Slaughter and May’s Tax Disputes Practice and myself.

The tax disputes landscape in India is very different from that of the UK.  Listen to the podcast to find out the reasons for this and how taxpayers should best approach dealings with the Indian tax authority. Hear about the changes taking place in India and why Mukesh is optimistic both about the use of advance pricing agreements (APAs) to mitigate tax risk and in terms of resolving disputes in India more generally.

We also asked Mukesh about a recent case, concerning the most favoured nation clause in Indian tax treaties, which will be of keen interest to any multinational taking dividends out of India.

Still to come are the Nigeria and France episodes. Subscribe to our Tax News show on your preferred podcast app to make sure you catch them all.
